This is a short excerpt from the film 'The Business of Being Born'. In the 1990s when Cytotec was used to induce women who had had a previous caesarean, thousands of women had uterine ruptures and hundreds of babies died before they finally realised it was dangerous to do this to women who'd had previous caesareans.
Marsden Wagner says, "... and that is why, if you want a humanised birth, the best thing you can do .... is get the hell out of the hospital."
Women have been used as obstetric guinea pigs for decades. Don't assume that the standard protocols you are being advised to consent to are in fact, evidence-based.
