Muscle-ease bath herbs

This is a fantastic blend of relaxing herbs to help ease aches and pains. A great way to unwind after a tough day.

The fragrant herbs that make up this blend are known for their anti-inflammatory and anti-spasm properties. The herbs are rich in many vital nutrients to support optimal oxygenation and health of hard-working muscles, and to gently ease soreness, stiffness and spasm in muscles.

The  Muscle-ease bath blend contains:

Comfrey Leaf – a traditional healer for sprains, bruises and sore muscles and joints. (Do not use on broken skin.)

Crampbark – with anti-spasm properties, this herb is effective when used topically to relieve stiffness and spasm.

Oregano – an antiseptic herb that is also useful topically for sore joints, aching muscles and skin problems.

Nettle – Contains natural steroid-like anti-inflammatory properties. Useful topically for easing aches and pains – and is great for your hair, too!

St. John’s Wort – with local analgesic effects, this wonderful healer is useful for skin problems and haemorrhoids. It is also appreciated for its effectiveness in easing sprains, rheumatic pain and cramps.

White Willow – called “Nature’s aspirin” with natural anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Useful for musculo-skeletal pain.

Meadowsweet – like White Willow, contains Salicin, with pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects.

Epsom’s Salts – rich in magnesium for easing muscle spasm and aches.

The dry herbs are placed into a muslin draw-string bag like this:

How to Use:

While you run your bath, place the filled muslin bag in a bowl or large jug, like a Pyrex jug.

Pour on hot water from the kettle until the muslin sachet is covered.

Place a plate over the top of the container to prevent the essential oils from escaping.

Let that steep for a good 10 minutes. By then, your bath will be ready.

Now pour the contents of your bowl or jug - muslin sachet, herbal liquid and all, straight into your bath. Careful of the wet sachet - the hot water within will be very hot, it'll remain hotter than the bath water for a while.

Step in, stir gently with your body .... and relax!

The wet sachet can be hung on the tap and re-used a second time with a day or so, if you wish.

Soak for a good 20 minutes. After getting out, you may wish to massage some transdermal magnesium oil into the sore muscles, such as "Ancient Mineral" magnesium oil.

Or try the Blissful Herbs Turmeric Soothing Salve, or the Capsicum & Turmeric Soothing Salve.
